The stripers are still here and cooperating when the weather allows us to fish. Thursday trip was cancelled due to another Gale warning but Fridays trip with the Tony Maffei crew was greeted by calm winds and seas [ one of the nicest days of the Fall] with steady action from stripers ,a few slammer blues and even a few nice throw back fluke on a variety of of artifiicals and live bait. The 3 man crew boated over 30 stripers, keeping 5 stripers and a few big blues ! Sunday, regular Jay Simmons accompanied by son Justin were out in cold mid 30 degree tempuratures [high temp] backed by a knifing 20-30mph wind for some more steady action with 20 + stripers . Justin not only landed his first ever stripers but managed the "pool fish" over bass vetren Dad [Jay]. The guys tuffed it out thru the cold temps and winds and were rewarded with a couple keeper stripers [ would have limited out except for a couple of hooks pulling out at the boat- ouch !] and playing catch and release with rest .
Best Regards,
Captain Steve Purul
